Spring Makeup Routine

Every Spring and Summer, I switch up my makeup routine and products for a more dewy, radiant and natural look. Here’s a breakdown of everything I used to create the above makeup look, no filter so you can actually see! I think this is the best my skin and makeup has ever looked.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Dew Drops – I’ve been prepping my face with this lightweight gel serum. This hydrates and gives the BEST glow! From Sephora

“What it is: A breakthrough, multiuse highlighting serum that hydrates and visibly reduces the look of hyperpigmentation for a dewy, reflective glow—without mica, glitter, or gray cast. Unleash a dewy glow with this versatile skincare and makeup hybrid. This lightweight gel delivers a glow quickly and over time for a reflective complexion with or without makeup. Use it as a hydrating, visibly brightening, and highlighting serum for all skin types before moisturizer or as the last step of your routine for a glossy finish. This product is ophthalmologist tested.”

Tula Brighten Up Smoothing Primer Gel – I have used the Face Filter primer from Tula for years now, but recently tried this one and I love the way it grips my makeup and without clogging my pores. It’s super lightweight, and makes my skin so smooth. “LITTLEBLONDE” for 15% off your Tula purchase, anytime!

ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint – using shade ST11.5 Morgat – I’ve heard mixed reviews on this and really wanted to see for myself what the hype was all about! To be transparent, I’ve never loved a tinted moisturizer or skin tint before. They usually leave my skin looking blotchy and uneven. I have dry, sensitive skin. To really put this to the test, I wore this all day to the safari with the kids. We left the house early in the morning and when we got home later that day, I was actually shocked to see my makeup had lasted all day. For a tinted serum, this gives beautiful coverage. The color is a perfect match, which never happens. I’ve always been craving something light, and super radiant to get that glow.. this is the perfect product for me to achieve that. My skin looks like skin, but radiant and even. The ILIA skin tint has niacinamide + squalene + hyaluronic acid which evens tone, softens fine lines and imperfections, and gives a super natural dewy finish. This is a natural beauty product, with SPF 40 and great for sensitive skin! I personally love to apply with my Hourglass foundation brush. (hands down, best foundation brush I’ve ever tried)

Concealer & Setting Powder

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – using shade Vanilla – I’ve been back and forth with concealers lately, and ultimately have ended up using two different ones depending on the day and what look I’m going for. Nars radiant creamy concealer is great for correcting, and has a radiant finish, which I love! This also wears for up to 16 hours, so It’s perfect for all day coverage. For my dry skin type, this works amazing under my eyes and anywhere I need to correct or highlight. I also love my It cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof concealer in shade medium if I want something more full coverage!

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder – using shade 2 Medium – I’ve used this setting powder for years now, and I haven’t found anything better to replace it with. Blurs imperfections and illuminates your complexion. This works great for my dry skin!

Bronzer & Contour

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer – using shade luminous bronze light – I bring this bronzer out every single Spring and Summer. It gives the best natural sun-kissed glow without having glitter all over my face (the actual worst) and lasts all day long!

Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer – using shade natural bronze – This is a tried and true product for practically everyone. I contour my face and nose before I bronze up with my hourglass bronzer.

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand – using shade spotlight – I’m OBSESSED with this highlighter. It actually lasts all day, and is super easy to use and blend out.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – using shade Volume 1 – This has been one of my favorite products for so long now. It was the only makeup besides mascara that I brought with me to the hospital when I gave birth. Seriously, it’s incredible and anytime I get compliments on my makeup, I know it’s because I used this. I’ve turned several of you on to this and I love hearing how much you enjoy it! Best highlighting palette hands down, and lasts a long time too.

From Sephora “Ambient Lighting Powder is a groundbreaking collection of finishing powders that capture, diffuse, and soften the way light reflects on skin. Unlike traditional powders, which merely cloak imperfections, Ambient Lighting Powder utilizes photoluminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion. The powders deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skin tone, making it appear softer and lit from within. The finishing powders enhance skin in any type of light, including flash photography. With three universal shades available in the Ambient palette, you can create any desired effect.”

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Collection – using shade Sublime Flush – By far, my absolute favorite blush shade I’ve ever used. Gives the best youthful color and glow, if that makes sense. I apply to my cheekbones and the end of my nose!

Eyes & Brows

Tarte In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette – using shades flower child and smarty pants – I’ve used this palette for so long that I know I may sound like a broken record, but it’s just the best! Perfect for everyday. I’m a lover of neutrals and very natural makeup. I apply flower child all over my lid, then blend smarty pants into my crease. Thats it! PS: use code LITTLEBLONDEBOOK for 15% off anything, anytime at Tarte Cosmetics!

Eyeliner – I use a flat eye liner brush and dip into the shade Activist from my in bloom palette, and apply a small wing on my outer corner and then a very light stamp on the inner corner of my eye, leaving the top of my eye without liner… This gives a “fox eye” My eyes can look very heavy and dark if I apply liner all over my lid, so I’ve really liked using this technique!

Lancome Lash Idole Mascara – This has been my go-to for more than a month now. I’ve talked about it several times now, but it’s a lightweight gel formula that doesn’t clump or flake and keeps my lashes lifted all day. Perfectly separates my lashes and gives my so much volume without looking thick and clumpy! Truly, the freaking best.

Benefit 24-Hour Brow Setter Gel – To get more of a natural “soap brow” look, I love using this brow gel. It holds my brows in place all day and shapes them exactly how I like!

Setting Spray

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Setting Spray – It doesn’t get any better than this setting spray. Iv’e used Urban Decay for years, and this one is just incredible. I don’t feel it on my skin, but it makes my makeup last literally all day long! Also, hydrating which is amazing for my skin that tends to be dry! Tip: *This helps so much with mask wearing to keep my makeup from rubbing off*

From Sephora “This multitasker provides up to 16 hours of wear to keep your makeup looking fresh all day while helping to absorb oil and control shine. Unlike typical setting sprays that can leave your skin feeling dry and tight, this weightless mist works to soothe, hydrate, and revitalize your skin.”

Lilah b. Lovingly Lip Tinted Oil – using shade b.elegant – I may have found my everyday color! This is a lip treatment and lip tint in one, and this color is SO perfect. I’m impressed with how long the color stays on even after the shine has dissipated!
